This week the annual congress of IABSE is being organized. FiberCore Europe's Head of Engineering, Dr. Ir. Martijn Veltkamp, will be presenting two technical papers at this congress. The congress will be held at the City Conference Centre in Stockholm from Sept. 21 to Sept. 23, 2016.
The first article; ''Full-scale fatigue testing with initial damage as validation of FRP road bridge design'', summarizes the main results of the research on fatigue with initial damage as validation of a fiber-reinforced plastic road bridge design. The second article; ''Movable lightweight bridges'', covers new concepts for movable lightweight bridges in fiber-reinforced plastic.
The 19th Congress of IABSE has the theme; ''Challenges in Design and Construction in an Innovative and Sustainable Building Environment.'' A large number of (technical) papers will be presented and discussed during the congress. With this, IABSE wants to further inspire structural engineers and infrastructure managers for shaping and maintaining an innovative and sustainable building environment.
