Delamination in composite
The Achilles heel in regular composite structures (sandwiches) has always been the "delamination problem"; the loosening of the skin from the core. The delamination problem occurs particularly after impact loading, followed by fatigue loading. For bridges, this could occur with impact damage followed by passages with a wheel print. For now, InfraCore®technology is the only technology that offers a solution to the delamination problem. Solving the delamination problem has paved the way for fiber-reinforced plastics (composites) in infra.
